Diesel EMD SD45 Powered -- Wisconsin Central #6677 The SD45 is a reliable,
heavy-duty locomotive that has been utilized by many different North American
railroads at one time or another since its 1965 introduction to the
railroading scene. Noteworthy as the first diesel locomotive with an engine of
more than 16 cylinders, EMD would eventually build 1260 of these
3600-horsepower road switchers in less than six years. Each model features a
five-pole motor with dual brass flywheels, wired all-wheel electrical pick-up,
high mount brake cylinder trucks, white led headlight, knuckle couplers,
printed numberboards, MU hoses, cab sun shades, windshield wipers and dynamic
brake "T-vent." Some detail pieces require hobbyist installation. These models
will be factory-equipped with a DCC socket.
