Super Continental Line(TM) Bombardier LRC Loco Powered DC/DCC Ready -- Amtrak #39 (Ad. Res. Limited Run)
MUSEUM-QUALITY PASSENGER TRAINS
Super Continental Line(TM) Bombardier LRC Loco Powered DC/DCC Ready -- Amtrak #39 It seems appropriate that the first stand-alone locomotive that we announce for our Super Continental Line is the Bombardier LRC, as the LRC was the first model kit we ever produced when the company was founded in 2004. Powered by an ALCO-MLW 251F prime mover, this little speedster looked and sounded sharp at the head-end of a set of matching LRC coaches and LRC club cars. It could also be found heading up a wide variety of equipment, from VIA and ONR conventional steam-heated passenger cars to AmtrakÆs Amfleet and Horizon cars. The Amtrak LRC locomotive was used in the early 1980s on demonstration runs in the Northeast Corridor and in the Midwest. The VIA LRC locomotive powered VIA trains in the Corridor and the joint VIA-ONR ôNorthlandö between Toronto and Kapuskasing, Ontario. It also powered the International using Amtrak and VIA equipment between Toronto and Chicago. Our Super Continental Line LRC Locomotive will feature: * DC/DCC (with sound) or DC (without sound) * DC (without sound) models are DCC-ready * five-pole, skew-wound motor with flywheels * operating headlights, ditch lights, class lights and back-up light * full cab interior * operating radiator fan * numerous extra detail parts, factory-installed * separate metal grab irons, factory-installed * operating diaphragms * multiple unit numbers available * MSRP $299.95 (with sound) - $159.95 (without sound)
